Joyeuses Pâques

Spring has been showing us it’s glory since February when the bright yellow Mimosa trees were the first to blossom. Then in March, dainty white petals that fall like snow and pretty pink blossom of various fruit trees appeared, making the garden colourful again.

This year I’ve been appreciating Spring more than I have ever before. Watching wild flowers pop up and butterflies dancing around them has been a comfort to me during a difficult time of bereavement for my family. In nature I can see new life and it gives me hope, and I feel lucky to experience it here in the sunshine and beautiful surrounds.

With Easter nearly here, I’d like to wish everyone a “Joyeuses Pâques!” For me, Easter is a time of contemplation, of joy and sharing good times with family. This weekend we are also joining in celebrations for a special baby boy at his Welcome Ceremony, where I hear there will be an Easter Egg Hunt…I know my Petit Garçon will love it!

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading.

Our French Christmas: Decorations

Christmas cards may not be a tradition in France (there’s hardly any in the shops), but they are big on Christmas decorations! Even our little road on the edge of town has an adorned lamppost with blue lights like waves (when on the Cote d’Azur!). Read more
